John Swisher

Age: 59

At the age of 51, John decides to not let age define who he was going to be. He embarked on a journey that would change his life forever – the world of Jiu-Jitsu.

Born and raised in a small town, John always had a passion for physical fitness and martial arts. When he was 29 he got his black belt in Shorin Ryu Karate. However it was at the age of 51 that he discovered Jiu Jitsu, a martial art unlike any other that captured his attention and ignited a fire within him.

Under the guidance of the esteemed Warren Stout, a renowned Jiu-Jitsu black belt instructor, John began his training as a white belt. Despite being surrounded by younger practitioners, he never let his age hinder his progress. Instead, he embraced the challenges, pushing himself to new limits both physically and mentally.

Through countless hours of training, dedication, and perseverance, John steadily climbed the ranks, earning his blue belt and and then achieving his purple belt. His journey has been a testament to his commitment and passion for the art of Jiu-Jitsu.

Beyond the physical benefits, Jiu-Jitsu has had a profound impact on John’s life. It has taught him discipline, patience, and the importance of setting goals. It has also provided him with a supportive community of like-minded individuals and friends who share his love for the art.

As he continues his Jiu-Jitsu journey, John remains dedicated to honing his skills, sharing his knowledge with others, and hoping to inspire older individuals to pursue their dreams.

While not on the mats John is busy as a Cofounder and executive of Ronin Advertising, a brand-marketing company, that operates on a national and international level helping businesses from fortune 500 companies to charities achieve greater success.
